There is much good news to be thankful about: all of the UK youngsters now have funds for their trip and surplus to give away; the building work is ongoing and seems to be smooth; and the children continue to enjoy good health! Despite talks of cuts and recession we are continually amazed at how God provides through individuals who suddenly send us a cheque and those who continue to do so month by month. Thank you!
Deborah Pike is being trained this term and will take on aspects of our UK administration whilst Emma Stewart will work part-time on developing resources for UK visitors to Uganda. These ladies are real answers to prayers, enabling the expansion to work with more children more possible.
There are challenges though. It is proving very difficult to source the best malaria treatment for the children and Joy has been running around in an attempt to do so. Please join us in praying for a righteous solution so that the children can benefit from these free drugs as they should. We’d also love to find a source of mosquito nets which are strong and need no further re-treating with insecticides.
Finally, at the end of the month a team is going out to Uganda with six youngsters and four adults. This can be an amazing time for these children to experience God’s heart for the marginalised of our world and to enter into some real involvement with their peers in Uganda. Please pray for their safety and health too so that they get all that they can out of this time and can give 100% to the Ugandan children they meet.
