It seems as if one disaster is coming after another this year to our friends in Uganda and our hearts and prayers go out to them. Just as harvest promises some respite from the daily struggles a band of weather from the Congo Basin has swept over the nation creating violent thunder and fatal lightning storms. Most buildings have no lightning rods these days and due to mass deforestation lightning is no longer drawn to areas full of trees. Fear is spreading amongst the children as 18 children were killed in a school a few days ago by one strike.
There are immediate responses that can be made and some longer term solutions need to be explored. Our first port of call though is God, both in asking for His peace and comfort with our children but also as the One who makes storms to cease.
