New School and lots of wonderful new children! 26th March 2013

We are so privileged to be able to get to know the boys and girls who are statistics to governments and who are loved children by a very big God. Looking at this photo of some of them dancing, it is so easy to just see a crowd. I am taking time, as I write this to look at each one, remembering how much they are worth to God and now to us. In December I visited these precious ones with Florence, one of our health educators. They attend Standard Nursery and Primary School which finances itself through staff, pupil and community participation in agricultural projects. The reason for this is that most of these children have lost one or both parents to HIV and so school fees are an impossibility. The 350 pupils who now attend the school show that this means of financing a school is a good working model. Helping Hands decided (very quickly!) to add this school to our health programme this year and so Florence has been there each week, training the children in health and encouraging them to see how special they really are.
