Brian is happy! 9th April 2013

Children like Brian are happy to go to school every day simply because it is a privilege. Attending school is "cool" and no-one wants to be sent home because they cannot pay or don't have books and pencils. Brian has had a few struggles though as he lost his Mum to AIDS and his Dad was arrested for stealing coffee beans from a neighbour's field. Being left with a Grandmother who turns to alcohol has meant that Brian has been practically looking after himself. Thanks to Helping Hands (and our friends), Brian is now the happy owner of some of our chickens along with around 20 of his school mates. The chickens arrived this term and are already laying eggs which he is enjoying for breakfast! In a few weeks time he can allow his hens to begin brooding and so increase his stock. This is sustainable development at its most basic but effective. You can help another child like Brian know that he is loved and help him to build a better future by giving £10 online through our website and we'll go and get some more chickens!!!
